It looks different then hot blueing, and it is thinner.

Think of paint that has water mixed...

Not without modification. You will ruin what little value is in majority of these rifles. Is it a 91/30 by chance? What year was it made? Do you know if it's a Tula (big star logo by date) or an Izzy?
