I shoot skeet on a high school shooting team and I use a Browning B-80. It works fine for me and could probably be found within your price range.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Ruger and they sad it was made in 1955. By the way the serial number was actually 24387. They said they couldn't give me any other information on the gun.

I love the 204 it's just a ton of fun for shooting milk jugs and great for varmints at a farther distance, I took a porcupine with a ruger M77 in 204 ruger skinning that thing was very interesting......

Well there clearly seems to be a strong liking for the mossberg here...I've never shot a mossberg 500 but I have a Remington 870 and haven't had any problems with it. I use it for turkey hunting...
