I love the ruger LCR. Conceals great, and is actually pretty fun to shoot. My wife shot 200 rounds at the range once, and only stopped cause that was all the ammo we had.

I'm not a regular 1000 yard shooter, I stop around 700. But... I would say the gun you already own though is the best one, just spend the money you would on a gun on ammo :)

I would highly recommend looking at the vortex diamondbacks. I've had a pair for a few years and have been really impressed. Much better than the NIKONs in my opinion. And much better warranty.
