I was always a big fan of the P14 Enfield (.303) also chambered in 30-06 as the M1917 for US service. Great old rifles, drive tacks, smooth...but a touch heavy (as were most of the military rifles...

Strongly suggest staying away from the gun shows right now...cant even get a Ruger 10-22 for a fair price in them. The "governments gonna get you" mentality is still on a rampage so they gun show...
