Smith 36 half cocked?

Is this "half cocked" position normal for the 36 or do I have a problem? It doesn't do it every time and never gets caught when actually shooting, only when I let the hammer down slowly.

Shot it in 38 special. They were cheaper than winchester white box, used a heavy bullet and were loaded hot. Bang every time, extracted just fine. Seems like great practice ammo.

I'm looking for load data for standard pressure 38 Special loadings, preferably with bullets in the 130gr range using Unique powder. I've found some murmurs online about hot but still standard loads...

Winchester SuperX Hull identification

Does anyone know what hull winchester uses for their 1oz SuperX Slugs? It says 70mm overall length on the side if that helps. I'm hoping its the AA hull.

The "rifling" on a rifled slug imparts exactly no spin on a slug,...

I cant say enough about our Savage 116 in stainless steel. It's easy to shoot well, fits my 6 foot frame a LOT better than some other guns we have. It prints just over 1" at 100 yards with cheap ammo...
