Seriously? Shot placement is what really matters. 9mm is an effective round for self defense. Like any other caliber, select a good JHP like HST, Ranger T, Gold Dots, etc. and you'll be fine.

Correct. Springs will not take a "set" if you leave the mag loaded. It's the loading and unloading that weaken the spring and cause mag failures.
