Heck yes it is! 3" is a great gun for ducks. Been shooting a 20 for 35 yrs. if you can change the chokes better still. Mines a fixed full choke 870. My go to shotgun.

I think you need the full length die if your loading for different rifles. The neck die is used for loading for only 1 rifle. That's pretty basic but oughta get ya going.

As I understand it, soft lead requires slow velocities or the barrel leads up.(?)

It is all about fit. I think you made the right call, if the browning fits better/ more comfortable. I'm way better with my 20g wingmaster for clays, than any other gun I have shot. Have fun
