I know the mannlicher, just was wondering what kind of rifle it was, whether you got it like that or if it's a custom job.
The value's another reason I'm looking for unmodified.

It's in .300 savage. All the savage site says is 1950 or later. The sights alone almost make it worth it. The vast majority of the ones I'm finding are either scoped or rigged for one.

Is this Savage 99 worth it?

I found a savage 99 in one of my local shops that I'm thinking about. It's in really good shape, has the original iron sights, the non logo "shotgun" style but pad and checkering on the stock and...

Go for the mosin. If you like the classics and want a Mauser, find one with the original chambering. As far as I'm concerned, that "near mint" thing goes right out the window with the calibre...

It's '38, which I think is the first year they introduced the laminated stocks (according to Wikipedia, anyway). Pretty sure it's a hardwood, though

I'm trying to find a handguard for this, but I'm not sure whether it's laminated, hardwood, etc. There are a couple spots where there's some bubbling in the finish; not sure if that could be...
