Is the .243 and .260 a real 1000 yard sniper round

Or just for competition? The military seems more destined to use a 300WM and up. That doesn't mean that is the best choice though.

I use a 30/06 for about everything, including 1000 + yards. From what I have read the 260 will do everything the 308 will only better. Less recoil and doesn't burn barrels. The 6.5's are getting more...

30/06 - Best choice of bullets, cheap brass, long barrel life, better ballistics than the 308. Con= recoil and lack of rifle choices.

I would prefer the older pre-64 Winchesters, 700 BDL's of the 60's, older Sako's(never had one) in rifles.
Pre-64 Winchester shotguns, any Beretta's semi-auto's, any Browning O/U's & sxs 20 ga, ...

I bought a new R77ST for $180 and had it all these years. I never liked the stock fit compared to the M70. The original trigger was fair. It is a little muzzle light, and the action isn't recommended...

I'd rather have the pre-64 if using open sights and being lighter and handier. It is "the" deer rifle. They hold value better. The 336 gets the nod with a scope. I've got both. $400 for a new one...

I've shot a lot of .243 and 30/06 ammo. The '06 is the best all around but for deer and varmints the .243 wins. Flatter shooting, safer, cheaper to load, and a lot less recoil.

If you reload with 160FTX bullets it is possible to improve the 30/30. I handled an AK once and wouldn't have one. After shooting conventional firearms all my life the AR's and AK's don't feel right,...

I agree that they can't compete with Walmart and such, but they could still find cheaper suppliers. If I was going to sell firearms today, I would just advertise FFL service out of my home, which of...

Sometimes I wonder where local dealers come up their suppliers and why, since they are so much higher than others. Just saving on taxes helps. The Govt. will just blow it anyhow.

Just for fun- heavy target 30/06 rifle

Since I shoot Left handed, I guess I'll stick with the Remington. If I could have gotten a Howa action cheap, it might be worth it. I really want match grade accuracy.

How many use a Super sniper? What do you think of them?
