Well, here's the latest from my Duracoating adventure. I'm very happy with the results, but i must say, I'd be very reluctant to Duracoat or Cerakote a barrel. Folks say Glocks are made loose, but...

I used Duracoat for the frame of my G20 and I couldn't be happier. Of course, it's very important to follow the directions and to let the item cure properly. I accidentally oversprayed onto my Makita...

I would certainly agree with the "promoter" or "primer" comments. However, these 2-part ceramic coatings seem to stick very well without such prep. Their use on the polymer frame wouldn't make sense...

Duracoat is great stuff, but the website recommends using clear topcoat over certain colors (mostly the metallics). I'm not sure why but I did it anyway. I agree that curing time is critical. I would...

For reasons that only make sense to me, I decided to turn my G20 into a "golden" gun. I sent the slide to the Glock Store for gold Titanium Nitride coating ($180). I did the frame, etc. myself in...

Here is the G20 frame after curing for 2 weeks. Still waiting on the slide and extended slide release to come from the Glock Store. I have to say that the aluminum magazine butt plates are the best....

That looks sweet. I'm doing my G20 with durakote on frame and barrel, Titanium Nitride on slide. I found gold mag base plates and Glock sells a gold extended slide release.

I'd agree, except that Glocks are (intentionally?) made pretty loose. I think it would take a pretty thick coat of anything to obstruct them. I'm having my slide done in Titanium Nitride (which is...

Only reason I can think of is to change the color. A lot of folks want to customize their toys to make them their own. I've known people to just grab a can of Krylon and do the job, but I think one...

Glock Frame Cerakote

Cerakote is a super hard ceramic coating that resists wear and tear well. A lot of flex probably wouldn't be great as ceramics are notoriously brittle. However, I don't think there's enough flex in a...
