I love the .44 Mag...I have 3 of them, all SA. Mostly used for silhouette shooting, but have taken deer and javelina with them. Fun at the target range too...But I also enjoy shooting the .44...

I own 4 of them....44 Special, 41 Mag, .357 Mag, and a SBH 44 Mag...they have all been flawless and are built to last. I use the .44's for silhouette and they are pretty effective.

Agree with most.... have all the "Big 3" mags and have owned .357's....I still like the .44s better. Full house on down to creampuff loads...all good...all effective. I still keep a .41 mag Blackhawk...

Having owned many of both....I can say this: Smith probably has a small edge on the double actions....and Ruger rules with the Singles...all SBH and Blackhawks are mostly indestructible...I own .41...
