I carry a Beretta Tomcat 32 ACP but unfortunately Berretta only offers this model in 22 RF now. Formerly, it was available in 22rf, 25acp and 32acp. I got this info from the Beretta website.

44 Mag Carbine

Get the Marlin by all meens. I got mine last year and never regreted it. I used to have a 44 Mag revolver but at my age; my wrist is not as strong.

You are absolutely correct in everything said about black bears. Coyotes and wolfs would be my main concern for sure. Not to mention the two legged varieties. Coyotes are our biggest problem here...
