Very difficult, if not impossible. Just get used to the double triggers, they're WAY better than a single trigger, faster to get on, and just what's happening. A conversion, if possible, would...

Need a bit more info. Mauser made several different rifles before and during WW II.

If it's a front dovetail, Brownell's will have a substitute, but for an original, you'll have to look...

I'm a .22 LR guy myself, and something of a .22 nut. There are few .22s that aren't pretty good rifles, at least none I"ve seen, so in a way whatever you buy is going to be a good rifle.

A .22...

I've shot lots of 40 gr. bullets out of a .223, never blue streaked one yet. I think the Ballistic Tip bullets are designed to blow up around the hollow point (which is filled with a plastic tip.) ...

There is a good on-line article by John Barsness, a gunwriter who is knowledgable and tests his premises, on the 9-twist .223s. A lot of rifles are going that way with the heavier bullets. It's on...

I suspect it is a cost-savings move, but on the other hand, the aluminum housing now isn't anything to write home about. So it could be a net gain.

Most of them were arsenal rebuilt, and have great bores. The ammo is corrosive and will mess up the bore if you don't clean it soon after shooting.

Got to disagree with Dillinger on the .308's max effective range. The MER of the M 14 is about what he said, but that's with iron sights. The round in 168 gr. BTHP is well above supersonice at even...
