I would vote for limp wristing it too. My wife would always get FTE with my Ruger I never did. Told her to grip it good. Hasn't done it since to her.

Bill,

You use it to set a barrel up in a lathe so you can center the barrel so everything is lined up on the bore. Use it for chambering and crowning the muzzle.

I would turn a short section of barrel so the sides are parallel, unless you can buy a brake that will fit the barrel taper. I would use a set screw or clamping action like the ones shown.
