Duracoat makes a shake and spray kit that does not require an oven to cure. Aluma-Hyde is a little bit cheaper than Duracoat, but they both do a great job from what I have seen.

I guess that my shortness helps me out. I am 5'9" 230lbs and I mostly carry IWB. I carry a Sig Scorpion 1911 and normally do not have that issue. A good IWB holster may help you out.
