I own a range officer and had the same problem w the sights. I saved money by simply painting sights! Love it know and like I said it is way cheaper! U can easily replace both front and rear sights...

I field striped my RO the day I bought mine and found that the rails needed some extra live from what the factory applied! Enjoy! Shoots like a dream!

Range officer by SA is the way to go. Especially if ur just target shooting mostly. Brand new under 850 at most places!

In my opinion any of the SA 1911 models look like the old GI models. Aside from the TRP and compact models! Just bought a SA range officer and it looks just like old GI models just a lil nicer....

1911 range officer front sight

I must say I love the RO I just bought but after shooting a couple hundred rounds through it I don't care for the front sight being black it makes it hard to pick up, especially at night. Any ideas?...

Recently was handed Down a SA 1911 A1. How can I tell if it is a mil-spec or a RO?
