I would have no problem using an SKS as a deer hunting gun up to 150 yards, it is more than accurate enough for that. Anything more than 100 yards i really would need a scope, but i am 72 years old...

I've been using Titegroup for about 2 years now in all my pistols. I load 380, 38spl,40SW, and 45ACP with it. Results have been good in all of them.

Now if your looking for quick alignment on quick moving targets at up to 100 yards a nice red dot sight would be more in order....

I have never used a Vortex scope, but i do have one of their Strike Fire red dot systems on my SKS and i like it very much, especially the $125 price as compared to the $300-$400 biggies...
