New 1911

I ordered this Para 'Black Ops' the other day for $700 (https://www.cdnnsports.com/para-usa-1911-45acp-black-ops.html). Seems like lotsa gun for the money, everyone else is asking $875-1100 for these...

The simple answer: whatever functions great in your hands/gun, and suits your budget. I like Winchester Rangers, because the 50rd boxes reduce the cost per round. They're also excellent bullets that...

Seems like a great gun if the specs and ergos are to your liking.

Bud's has them for $469 (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=ruger+american&x=0&y=0)...so I...

The Korean mags have run okay for me...not great. While not perfect, they'll run pretty reliably in a G17. But they're utterly unreliable in my KelTec S2K. The Glock factory 17rd and 30+rd mags will...

Cool stuff. I guess there might be a few more CZs to add to my short-list...been liking the idea of an SBR side-folding Scorpion and a DW 1911. I kinda like the grey P-07/P-09 as well. And I wouldn't...

I prefer MecGar mags for many of my pistols from CZ, Sig, and Browning (among others). In most cases MecGar actually makes those companies' factory mags that cost $40-60, while the otherwise...

I have Glocks, Sigs, Rugers, etc, etc. My preference is CZ (75b, P-07, P-09) or Springfield XDm/XDs. That's what fits my tastes just right, and they're what I depend on.

I can't possibly guess...

Good info!

I've shot many of these. The cheapest I typically run is 62gr Silver Bear. I also run lots of PPU 69/75gr Match (decent precision ammo on the cheap).

A couple bargains I'd recommend:...

Set your rifle up to fit your hands, eyes, etc.

There are folks who can kick @ss with a $100 optics setup. Others may require a $1K setup. What I think is nice should have little influence on what...

A stable of Sig P's and CZ 75's....I like your taste in firearms. Two of my absolute favorites. The CZ 75b has always been the more naturally accurate of the two in my hands.

I'm a huge believer in many MecGar mags. The stuff they make for many of the staple Beretta, Ruger, S&W, CZ, Sig, and Browning products are equal to (at times even better) than the factory mags that...

My feeling is that polymer lowers aren't terrible at all. Many are probably light, practical, and reliable. But I'd prefer not to work with a stripped poly lower.

On the cheap, PSA is rock solid (http://palmettostatearmory.com/ar-15-05/lowers.html). You can get a stripped lower or a well-equipped complete at bargain rates. Kinda...

Don't do it.

If you want a 1911 in 357sig, consider that 38-super 1911s boast similar performance.

But I too would like a 1911 in 357sig. I would really appreciate a Springfield XDm 5.25" in 357sig. Sadly, I'm...

1) 5.56/223- Vanilla. Good, simple, cheap, excellent performance. No caliber is better for a 'one and only' tactical rifle IMO.

Looks good!

I'd advise moving that rear sight back to the first slot. Max sight radius is always beneficial to accuracy...even if that means you drop an extra $50 on a BCM CH for ergonomics.
