Thanks. I shoot it fairly often, and I'll will look into the schuster gas plug. Until now I have just used it with the stock plug that was in it when I bought it.

I had an off-brand, no name single shot bolt action .22 when I was 10. Everytime I open my gun safe I briefly wish it was in there, part of the reason I will not get rid off any firearm once I get it.

I was just about to post the same question, so thanks for putting it out there. Here in Ca we aren't allowed to hunt medium game with .223, but I'm thinking of going on a Texas boar hunt this year....

Has anyone here ever mounted a scope on an M1 Garand?
Is the off set worth the trouble and did you find it difficult to adjust to?
