Those were the early guns. I have the later "B" serial, and no problems with the bulge. I have about 4000 rounds through mine so far (used for competition for a bit).

I am running 8 of the 12v panels in banks of 4 (48v system).

I got my solar stuff from Backwoods Solar. They have been great to deal with and worked with me to get my system setup correctly.
