Purse carry is a really bad idea but...I carry either my lcp in a crossbreed mini tuck or my Taurus 709 slim in a fox holster depending on how I am dressed.

The Mark iii does have a magazine disconnect but that is easy enough to fix with an $8 hammer bushing from a Mark ii.

I would hate to live somewhere I thought this was necessary. I am lucky if I remember to shut the door. I have a gun close at hand at all times but don't live in fear of answering the door.

It probably isn't the gun ... More likely your holster. A crossbreed style holster is extremely comfortable compared to a holster with one belt clip.

My 6 year old nephew loves to shoot my Ruger...

My 6 year old nephew loves to shoot my Ruger 22/45. I support the bottom of the gun just to keep him from dropping it but he does the rest.
