Some people just like having the ability to use basic steel mags that are still plentiful and relatively cheap.

Saiga mags are proprietary, it's nice to be able to use the most common stuff though.

Magazines for the M77's are few and far between right now, I don't think Zastava has really stepped up their production yet.

Seems to be a pattern for Zastava, the triggers in my M88 pistol and Zastava SKS are rough too.

Great rifles and handguns though, hope yours is made quality like everything else they make there.

They offer an upgraded one from the factory if you have a pre-2012 serial...

There is no heavier duty replacement, sorry.

Not sure why you want to replace it, it has been standard issue across all brands and AK's since the stamped AKM was introduced in the 1950's.

Your rear sight should be covering the line just below the 1 mark.

Most of it's bones were also hollow to compensate for it's immense weight.

A standard rifle round like .308 or .30-06...
