I agree with this. Sounds like you are wanting a long range accurate barrel. A 1in8 either 16" or 18" would be perfect.

Ruger's new DI AR-15 has been getting great reviews. With the low prices available today buying a complete rifle is a good option.

You could always build one later after becoming more familiar...
