Are you shooting reloads? It sounds like a presssure problem. Check your cases for signs of high pressure.Faltened primers etc.

I built a 458 Win Mag on a 1917 knuckle buster...

I built a 458 Win Mag on a 1917 knuckle buster several years ago. It will take the pressure. Be sure to straighten out the bolt handle.
