I Have the S&W "Gunsite" Commander 1911 and it's been a great pistol. I would buy another. The price is fantastic. I paid 1050 for mine.

That hasn't been my experience. I've always had orders received within 5 working days and if I had a question it was usually answered with 24 hours. You might have got the one malcontent that works...

My 2010 S&W print catalog shows one 3'' barrel 1911, a model number 178020 with a black Melonite finish. it is listed as a Pro Series pistol. However it shows Synthetic grips rather than rosewood....

Walmarts here in southern Delaware have a pretty good stock including 380, 38, 357 and 40. 45ACP has just started showing with 50 round federal FMJ at 17$ and white box FMJ 100 round box for $35.

How many rounds have you put thru it? My S/S TRP took about 100 rounds of FMJ to get to shoot anything I put thru it. Looking at the Kimber manual they recommend 400-500 rounds of FMJ for break-in...

Have notice a S/A 1911 TRP S/S in like new condition, less than 75 rnds fired. for $1100. Being new to 1911s' (Old wheel gun guy) is this a fair price? Found this on a a gun auction web.
