Usually, they tend to be tougher than the smaller animal. But if you can hang the animal up 8 to 10 days in a sutable place, the meat will be fine and tasty.

The reason I'm leaning towards a Tikka T3, is that I use to own a 30-06 M65 Tikka, and this had to be one the most accurate rifle I had. Unfortunatly, because I have so many rifles I got rid of this...

Over & Under versus Side by Side

I use them both to hunt with, but I find the over & under is more balanced. Just the right fit as you pull up the shotgun. Great for clay shooting.

Like using my .22 for rabbits, or grouse. Head shots only with a 3-9x scope on my 10/22 Rugger. This way it keeps my eye tunned-up, "and if I miss", well good for them then they get to live another...

I do lot's of moose hunting, and my favorite is my 7mm Rem mag Browning, but for an overall rifle I don't think the 30-06 is beatable, with all the grain of shell you can buy for this caliber it will...
