I'm also very close to Corning, N.Y. in fact I work in Painted Post. It takes me about 25 minutes to drive there. If you go by phyiscal border, I'm with in about 2 miles from the border.

Go to 44MAG.com - Wholesale Rifle and Pistol Magazines (http://www.44mag.com). They have all sorts of mags. To say that the straight 20 rounds don't work as well as a curved 30 rounder is just wrong....

On my 1895 in 30-40 I have a Lyman Model 21 ladder aperture sight which I believe is correct for the era. Mine was built in 1926 and inherited from my father.

Yankee Hill makes a set of sights that will work on your MP 15. They run about $90 apiece. This is what I have on my Stag Model 3 which is pretty much the same thing as the S&W and they work great....
