I, too love my hi-point. But the magazines can be real crappy. I had a similar problem, and jsut bought two new magazines.

That seems to have fixed the problem.

I have a Taurus 605 with almost 5000 rounds through it and maybe 2000 of those were .357 magnum.

No problems yet...it has been the most trouble-free gun I've ever owned.

Their customer service can be spotty...but overall I am very pleased with my Taurus'...and I own several.

My summer gun is a Taurus 605. 5 shots of 357 with a 2" barrel. It;s meaty enough to control recoil, but small enough to stick in a IWB holster and be completely invisible. You could easily carry it...
