Default Are You Capable Of Critical Thinking?

Many people are not capable of critical thinking, rather they just go along with the people who have sharp skills in that area. A highly capable critical thinker can easily persuade one who is not so capable to think almost anything. Scary thought, isn't it? This is what has happened to our country. George Carlin had great talent and was very intelligent. He also had great critical thinking skills.

Stop playing the game as much as you can.

Stop voting for the lesser of two evils. Instead, vote for the person you believe is right - even if you have to do a write-in vote. Nothing will change in government until we change it. And that doesn't mean accepting the douche bags the DNC and RNC present to us as choices.

Stop depending on others as much as you do and figure out ways to become self-reliant and self-sufficient.

Get out of debt - when you are in debt, you are a slave. Pay off debt and stay out of debt.

There's more, but that's enough for now.

Most people are to lazy to do any critical thinking or are just not capable of it. For the past 50 years the govt has been dumbing down education so people can't think for themselves. Now I just collect firearms and have convinced many of my friends to take up shooting as a sport so I can form a militia if I have to.

I don't think it is a question of laziness so much as people are not capable of it simply because they have not learned how.

The dumbing down of the public education system is a separate issue from teaching critical thinking skills. If you think about it, mathematics when taught correctly, is all about critical thinking. If you just teach the students the formulas and equations and you fail to teach them how to develop those formulas and equations you have failed to teach them math. That is critical thinking. There is another thread about a recording of a teacher who is berating her students for being critical of Obama, but what the video demonstrates is that those kids in that classroom have developed some decent critical thinking skills despite the teachers efforts to the contrary!!
