That's because you see your poll as something conclusive.

$25 ... that's $.07 a day ... recycling a mere 2 soda cans a day would cover the expense! I challenge ANYBODY who is NOT a member to rationalize against that!!!

I agree, but you would not believe the amount of vitriol many of those who profess to be for the RTKABA's are supping about the NRA.
Our problem is we are not united in any way.
With the arms goes the power!!! It don't matter if you are talking a one on one or a global confrontation, the principle is the same.
The progressive extremists who are currently in power know the MUST disarm us to control us, and they will stop at nothing to accomplish this end!
History is ride with examples of this!!!
If we don't stand up against this current threat we may well lose the final option, which the 2nd Amendment was enacted to protect!!!!

"80 million strong" = number of Americans who own firearms (per the NRA)
So, there are 4 million NRA members(of which I am one), or about 1 in 20 (5%) of all gunowners. Question: why do you think these people are not already NRA members? My guess:
- some don't join anything
- some are afraid the Govt monitors the membership
- some are cheap
- some don't agree with NRA policies
- some don't want to be associated with the more extreme views expressed by some members
- some don't want 800 emails per month from the NRA (sure wish that would stop!)
we could just say that 76 million or so American gun owners are a bunch of senseless, ignorant, cowardly sheep for not joining. yeah. let's do that. even though the non-joiners clearly have us out-gunned lol

I cannot really say how I would react because I don't own any arms that would be banned under Sen. Feinstein's bill.
Earlier I mentioned that I'm unsure of what our gov't is capable of. How will they even begin to confiscate?
One day I would like to own an AR, or other modern sporting rifle. But it isn't really about that for me. When the government successfully takes guns, we see oppression start. That is what worries me.

Make no mistake, just because I'm not signing this petition DOESN'T mean I am not speaking up for my rights as a gun owner!
