Our political agenda the past 4 years has us drifting toward a EuroCentric kind of Socialism, and that means we start assimilating their ideology.

You say "what-if scenarios" are dangerous. If we'd played more "what-ifs" 12years ago we might have been more prepared for 9/11. Nobody saw that one coming, either, did they? Anything can happen. 30 years from now, with 8-billion people on the planet, throw in a few famines or natural disasters, and we might be fighting each other for food, potable water and living space.

It doesn't hurt to talk about it.
That was a very intelligent and insightful response to what I posted.....and it's making me reconsider some of my thinking yesterday. I think the NRA from a leadership standpoint should align the members and have an absolute LAST STAND scenario planned out so we can all do this together. Power in numbers. I'm just not ready to lay my life down for a possible line item on Uncle Sam's agenda (the AWB). That I can live with....trying to confiscate all my of guns including rifles, shotguns and pistols would be my last stand.

We all want the same thing here fellas....it's just a bit shocking to me how some are locked & loaded and publicly welcoming a fight against our own government which would be carried out by LEO and our own troops. Just doesnt make any sense on all sides.

Default Boy this thread reeks of testosterone.

May I point out that the Al-quida (like the IRA before them) are doing their damage with bombs, not firearms. As regards fighting a superior force, I think reading Sun Tzu might be instructive.

The Police and Military train for all kinds of scenario's, real and imagined. I still don't buy into the hype of Obama having the authority or the desire to turn this country into a socialist police state. If it happens, I will use my military skills to protect the constitution and my personal rights. I refuse to live in fear because of a few conspiracy theories.

I hear everyone here upset about this, no one likes the thought of the gov taking our tools. I see it here, i hear it all around and there was a way to stop it. With all the millions of firearm owners no one would make a stand. There was a pettion started, i posted links on here to get help. I posted on fb, i talked to people and even senators. But no only a small group of people signed. There was a little over 12,000 people that signed it and we needed that much more. But it fell short and no one cared. I seen another petition to legalize pot. That one had over 100,000 signatures. What the hell is wrong with that. All these people stood together to legalize pot but we couldnt get 25,000 people to sign our petition. I deffinately see something wrong with that. I still here people complain about it and i laugh now cause theres something that couldve been done.

Pot over firearms.....really

I doubt that the government will come after our firearms. Not that there aren't those that will try to make it more difficult own them, or that there are those who would like to consficate them, but simple math shows the impossibility. There are more firearms than there are citizens in this country, and anywhere from 20 million to 100 million gun owners, there is absolutely no putting the tub back into the toothpaste so to speak. As for all the LE and gov't guys doing drills late at night? It's simple.

Our economic system is going to collapse, no ifs, ands, or buts. It was going to happen regardless whether or not Romney or Obama was elected, and the reelection of Obama only accelerates the due date. Our leaders may desperately hope that it doesn't, but they aren't quite as incompetent as we think they are, and they are planning for when it does. The fact is we probably have to worry more about running water, blackouts, getting groceries, and dealing with an uptick in civil unrest and crime. The government will be fighting to survive, just imagine what happens when everyone on the dole wakes up and realizes that the government won't be cutting checks any more? What is going on now is very similar to what happened to Rome from 100 BC with the Gracchi brothers to 43 BC and the beginning of the civil wars.

Right, unfortunately. We likely won't be fighting to keep our guns, we'll be fighting to keep our homes, and to keep our families alive.

My view is that we will have signs that this is approaching.
rapidly rising costs, lack of available ammunition etc.

if a law passes that states turn them in, then some of my registered weapons will be turned in.
I will bet they allow bolt actions & SA revolvers instead of semi automatics at first. but the simplest way to reduce what is out there is to restrict the ammunition. The govt may not be able to legally stop me from purchasing firearms, but who says they can't restrict ammunition?

but I digress... no, I don't plan on ever turning in all of my firearms even if I am left with just a muzzleloader

They've already tried to come up with an exhorbitant tax on ammunition. to try to make it unaffordable. They are trying to ban lead from the "environment". Also mercury, which is used in primers.

Isoroku Yamamoto WWII
We fear if we attack the American home land there would be a gun behind every blade of grass!
The UN will find the same! If they are stupid enough to come to America. In their case there will be more than one!
