Default When did registration start

I'm in CA. What year did you need to start registering handguns? I have one from the mid 80's and don't know if it's ever been registered. What about transfers? When did a paper trail come into existence for that? Am I out of compliance if I've not done either? What about high cap mags on the same vintage handgun?

Sierra- this is a link to the CA DOJ website firearms section. Go get a cup of coffee- you have some reading to do.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

Screw the cup of coffee, put on a fresh pot.
