It's hard enough just to get them to clean themselves

No kidding! When I go to buy presents for my boys I always wind up on the Lego isle. These days it's cheaper to build a real AR than one made out of Legos.

You better believe it! It is getting the full Magpul treatment in OD green this time. CTR stock, PSA lower parts kit with magpul grip and trigger guard, magpul forward grip And rail covers. Already have an RGuns 16" free floated heavy barreled complete upper with YHM quad rail and YHM flip up sights. LRB stripped lower. Timney 4 lb. single stage trigger. Lower will be here tomorrow and I will be laser engraving a pinup on it. The rest of the parts should be in by the end of the week. I will most definitely post pics.

Oh and I've got plenty of mags and ammo on hand. As well as the materials to build a few thousand more rounds of .223.

You sir just made me cry... Jealous of that build. And OD green... Master piece! Magpul just seriously gets it right. A bit pricy but so worth it.

Why WE need them?! I can only speak for myself but If you have to ask then you probably don't need one.

It fit the bill for me; a quality effective rifle for range and home defense, easy to use and maintain. And it fires an effective round for short and long range plinking as well as handling some quite good HD rounds too. Add to that the modularity of the platform, and I have a perfect rifle for me.

Is that the criteria all others used when they opted for an AR? Who knows. I haven't a clue.

The Second Amendment says "the right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed" Not, shall not be infringed except for, or all but. The Second Amendment is all or nothing

The second amendment did my have a banned gun list on it. the truth is you can do the same damage with many other platforms, they all have the same capabilities. The AR/M16/M4 platform is just the most reliable. I live in Comifornia, where they are proposing to confiscate 168,000 ARs. All I got to say is........

Interesting post, what is the point of owning an AR-15, First, because it's a right afforded by the constitution and the bill of rights, that is until those in DC that think that there solutions will somehow magically make the word a safer place feel unsafe having veterans who served in the US armed forces owning personal firearms. (For the record I'm not a veteran, and it's not by my choice)

Second because to own and purchase a firearm that is made in the United States also helps to keep the economy moving.
