This right here, this is how you fly your flag. You haven't hit distressed yet if you still can fly that flag. Never on a battle field have you seen a US service member turn that flag upside down and signal distress even in the most direct circumstances, because we are Americans and as long as we breath we can overcome whatever and whoever is attempting to oppress us. You fly that flag high and proud. You salute her and render honors to those who have fallen to defend her. Because she's not just a flag, she's the international symbol of freedom of strength and above all else she the symbol of great people living in a great nation who live united even in our darkest hours. The people are the United States of America and no government official can take that from you ever. So fly her tall and be proud, you are an America.

The will of the majority of the American voters decided the election, just as our founders intended. Democracy is alive and working well. Real Americans realize that. To disrespect the flag and the Republic for which it stands is disgusting, and people who do such acts are traitors.

I'll fly the flag until I can't anymore. Meaning I must have got dead or something. The government does not represent the country to me. They are just the hired help. It's like my ID I guess is a good way to put it. Just harder to carry around so I got me one of those nifty pins to wear on my old jacket. No matter what I'll be a proud American. The America we see today is far from the one I grew up in but it's still America. As long as that is the case I will keep hope. A lot of people gave a whole lot to allow me to be a middle aged slacker for almost half a century. Least I can do is show my respect. I wasn't allowed to serve (damn spine!) so the best I can do is live as a proud American and teach my kids to do the same.

I do have a Gadsden flag on the wall behind my drum kit.

I was pretty disgusted with the state of this union when i posted that. I am still disgusted, but i will be waiting to see how bad our idiot-in-chief and those *******s in DC screw us over on our second amendment recognized rights before i ditch my flag.

Our freedoms and rights are one of the few remaining points of pride i have in this country. If they trash those out, then i will be running shorter on reasons to celebrate this nation's symbol.

It is sad how far this country has sunk just in my lifetime.

Try flying a flag upside down or bashing the government if you lived in any other country. Tell me how that works out for ya.

Good point, it seems we are stil COMPARABLY free in the ruins of this country.

Edit * "Comparably free" in comparison to many other countries, NOT in comparison to the U.S. at its peak.

Did you just say I was not a real American chain? I know you didn't because that would upset me greatly.

Democracy Is the will of the people, 70%, by most polls, showed that Americans did not want the health care bill that OUR elected officials voted yes for? So, how is that democracy working? If 70% of our elected officials voted no, we would not be having this bill rammed down our throats. I live the American dream, I get up every morning and work, I work my arse off every day to be sure my kids have what they need. Why should my tax dollars go towards paying someone else that won't do that? Don't say I'm unamerican bc I don't think democracy is at its best and working 100% of the time in MY country sir!!

I have a son and daughter serving our country right now, my son just got back from Afghanistan. I fly the flag for them and others including myself that have served this country. I will not disrespect the sacrifices made. I say find another way. Just my opinion
