You realize that the real world Libertarians refuse to regulate abortions? Is "killing babies" no longer an issue for your soulmates?

Wow, was not expecting to see an interview! Especially from CNN. I love how the black guy does not think its racist but the bleeding heart liberals do.

I was surprised that anyone would make any racists statements at all.

For any reason.

Now the rancher has simply nailed his own coffin.

It won't be long before an FBI swat team is all over him.

Can't defend or debate the real issue(s) therefore resort to the hit 'n run racist attack. Typical tactic by the mentally unarmed.

Folks got very excited by the Bundy soap opera before all the facts were in. Politicians who backed Bundy ran off and left him after his racist remarks.

Remember the long tear jerking story Bundy told about the land being in his family since 1870 something. Would it surprise you to learn that Bundy lied?

Quote:
Clark County Recorder documents show the 160-acre Bunkerville ranch Bundy calls home was purchased by his parents, David and Bodel Bundy, from Raoul and Ruth Leavitt on Jan. 5, 1948. The purchase included the transfer to the Bundys of certain water rights, including water from the nearby Virgin River. Cliven Bundy was born in 1946.

Although no Bundys lived in Bunkerville in 1930 or 1940, according to Census records for those years, Cliven Bundy’s mother Bodel and her parents, John and Christena Jensen, lived in neighboring Mesquite in the early 20th Century.

Census records from 1930 indicate that John was a Mesquite farmer originally from Utah whose parents were from Denmark. Those records state the farm was near Main Street and a bridge over the Virgin River.

Separate records from the website FamilySearch, which is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, indicate that Christena Jensen was born in Nevada in 1901 and that Bodel Jensen was born in Nevada in 1924. Christena Jensen’s parents originally were from Utah. This is the side of the family where Cliven Bundy claims long-standing livestock water rights.

.................................................. ....................................

County records show the earliest construction on Bundy’s ranch was in 1951. The land is zoned rural open land. Since 1994 the ranch has been jointly owned by the David A. and Bodel Bundy Trust and the Bundy Revocable Trust.

Census records show that Cliven Bundy’s paternal great-grandfather, Illinois native Abraham Bundy, lived in Littlefield Village in Mohave County, Ariz., as early as 1900. Abraham Bundy was credited in 1916 with establishment in Mohave County of Bundyville, otherwise known as Mt. Trumbull, according to a history of the Arizona Strip on the Northern Arizona University website.

Yep, folks on this board who are backing Bundy saw an idealized rancher under the boot of the awful Obama government. Turns out Bundy lied.

Google is your friend. Google can save you the heartburn of parroting web trash as fact.

As I've stated in previous posts I am not a Bundy fan. My problem is with the federal gooberment and their handling/response with regard to the whole scenario. The fact that Bundy is a bit of a putz does not lessen my concern over the behaviour of the feds.

It does surprise me that some seem to believe what they read in the press and news, at least the stories that back their view of the situation. I cain't see the authorities not winning this dispute one way or the other. They will not want to be seen to back down in case it encourages others to arm themselves and not accept court decisions like it or not. Some seem to be backing him because they see him and his followers as standing up to government. The fact that he might be in the wrong does not seem to matter.

Default What have I learned from this .... ????

Who really cares whether he's a racist or not?.... Bundy can say or believe anything he wants. No law against it and the First Amendment covers him (within reason.. The 1st doesn't cover threats, incendiary speech or"fighting words" and obscenities) ... and IMHO, is just as important as the 2nd which is obviously so dearly loved here.
That being said, I read in a very good book about another little revolt a couple of thousand years ago against a strong centralized government... and it's leader was confronted one time about whether or not it should be taken into a tax revolt. The wise leader then held up a coin and stated to his followers and would be converts that they should "Render unto Caesar what IS Caesar's.... "

Maybe... just maybe... if this Bundy guy had "rendered"... he would be in this mess in the first place. ...and to all here who are letting their OWN feeling about the Government cloud up how they see Bundy .... if you support him so much then head over to his spread and stand with him (again... still no law against it). Remember to bring along your spouse and children.. because his followers have stated they WILL use them as human shields when it comes down to armed confrontation with the Feds; http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/14/former-arizona-sheriff-reveals-chilling-strategy-to-put-women-up-at-the-front-during-bundy-ranch-standoff/

He is NOT a patriot OR a hero!! I firmly believe time and circumstances will prove this guy to be wingnut ... just like Zimmerman has turned out to be !! I just hope and pray no one gets suckered into getting killed over this!! As far as I'm concerned, he's a self-serving idiot who has painted himself into a corner and taken others with him!!

If you'll excuse me now... I have to walk AWAY from this campfire and get some work done so I can pay my bills and live MY life!!

Couldn't the all mighty government just put a lean on his property? Or was it not really about the money? Doesn't Al Sharptown owe nearly a million in taxes? Yet no one is going after him. Instead he gets invited to the white house. I've heard liberals say the government should drone strike him.

This has delved too far into politics and things that do not involve firearms.

If a supporting member wants tostart a topic on this in the politics section feel free.

Thanks
