Wa. State waiting period ??

Has anybody purchased a rifle or shotgun in Wa. State in the past 3 months ?

Reason for asking, I was told by 2 different people that they purchased a shotgun recently.. BUT,.. They had to wait 5 days to pick it up.. As far as I know, a shotgun or rifle can be purchased by anyone over 18 and you can take it home right then and there..
Pistols require a waiting period unless the buyer has a concealed weapons permit. If you have a permit, you can take it home right then and there..

?? Confused ??

Having to wait for a rifle or shotgun ? Something is fishy here..

The same thing happened to me when I bought my XL-7, I ended up having to wait 5 business days to get it. Did those two people have any sort of legal issues?

No legal troubles as far as I know.

All I ever got was "Thank You and Have a nice day"..With new toy in hand.

All I remember is after I filled out the form they did a hold to do a deeper check on me because of some issues I had with the police earlier that year. Not sure how much legal trouble would be required for that to actually be an issue.
