It seems like most folks are no longer bothering to write posts, but just putting up videos.

Does this annoy anyone else??

Yes, most of the time I'm on my phone and either don't have time to watch or don't have enough data left or the network sucks. A summary of the video would be nice.

I don't think it's all too common. If the video is just a few minutes long I will probably watch it. I usually don't want to sit and watch a 20 minute video, though. I think it's okay to post a video rather than have the poster try to summarize it and maybe miss some details. That's just my opinion.

That just means the Rick-Rollin has fallen by the wayside.

Not at all if it supports the written post. Videos do tend to corroborate the intent of the message. But if it is just a thread open and no postings other than a link, that can be frustrating.

That's what I was referring to. I don't if they're posted, as long as it's to "back up" the written text.

And 3 minutes is my limit.

I've posted a few videos before but always consider it good forum etiquette to include both a brief description and especially the run time of the video in the post.

Writing is a good thing because you can correct your grammar easier and get your point across quicker.Unless you already have a paper written out already,which video bloggers don't usually do,you end up with something like this:"I like,really think this,you know,gun is kind of,well,it,you know is a good gun and the ammo is cheap and it holds alot in the clip,you know,I mean the magazine is high capacity and the ammo is really cheap on cheaper than dirt,I mean,midway usa you know,umm,and another thing,uhh,it looks good too".

I realize that it can be a PITA to write a summary sometimes, but it's far more of a PITA to click on a thread that sounds like it might be interesting only to find a link to you-boob. I can't speak for others, but my personal tolerance for a you-boob post is 2-3 minutes. anything longer I won't watch. but I will read the summary.
