The late, great United States R.I.P.
You have the registration function in the Treaty and then you have this article:

Article 16

International Assistance

1. In implementing this Treaty, each State Party may seek assistance including legal or legislative assistance, institutional capacity building, and technical, material or financial assistance. Such assistance may include stockpile management, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration programmes, model legislation, and effective practices for implementation. Each State Party in a position to do so shall provide such assistance, upon request.

2. Each State Party may request, offer or receive assistance through, inter alia, the United Nations, international, regional, subregional or national organizations, non-governmental organizations, or on a bilateral basis.

3. A voluntary trust fund shall be established by States Parties to assist requesting States Parties requiring international assistance to implement this Treaty. Each State Party is encouraged to contribute resources to the fund.

Who in the Hell is afraid of the U.N.? Really this is the most inept useless money pit ever devised by humans. The U.N. when faced with armed conflict can out run the French Army. Most of their leadership was educated in mud huts by Bible college drop outs. The U.N. is only a devise for making billionaires out of Socialist refugees from African nomadic tribes.

Speaking of the U.N. and things international, I ran across this pro-gun international organization. They have a lot of useful info.

IMO, the UN has no more power than what we allow them to have over us. they can propose all the treaties they want. as said, they are an inept organization with no real power or authority. their premise is that these proposals will hinder or deter illegal arms sales to militant countries. BULL$h!T! it's about disarmament. nothing more. have they once yet to stop genocide with any of their treaties and proposals to date? not that i'm aware of. Obama and Clinton are on board with this because it fits their agenda. nothing more, nothing less. which is a whole different set of issues. nothing Obama brought to the table in his proposals would have stopped or prevented any of these current violent incidents from occuring. not in the least. and he wants us to believe that these proposals are in our best interests to prevent future tragedies from happening. HOGWASH!

personally, i will not abide by any UN treaties or proposals. i am an American born citizen who believes and supports the Constitution of the United States of America, not a subject who will bow down to the wishes and desires of the UN.

The U.N. Treaty is dangerous not because the U.N. will enforce it, but because our own governments will use it as an excuse to enforce radical gun control.

As with most U.N. treaties, The U.S. and the U.K. would be the only ones to honor it. The rest of the world will do as they please.
But for my own opinion, sometimes the most morally right action is to disobey an unjust law.
