So they have 6 months (read after the election) to come up with a redraft. For everyone wondering why "gun control" was the buzz words of just the media and not the politicians in the past week, this is why...
Obama knew he was shooting it down, so it was better to keep his mouth shut about it for the risk of putting his foot in it.

Yep. He's waiting to get reelected. The sad thing is, regardless of who gets elected it'll probably get signed.

It would be smart for mitt to show some support for the gun owners if he truely wants to beat obummer...but I do have a feeling that he would sign it.

I'm sure he would. This is just a distraction. I read a book recently, "Calbri's War". It's a scifi action tale, but there's political stuff in it too. All fantasy of course, and while someone may could find a connection between it and current events, that's not what it's about at all. In this book, reading the politician's aside of things, really gives a lot of insight into the way politicians work and think. It's all just a power game to them.

Well I got me 6 months to keep stocking up. Lol. Anyone else been checking on bulk 223 ammo on the Internet everyone is sold out!!! Lol. Not everyone but all the thousand round packages I've clicked on say sold out. I'm thinking I need at least 10 more mags and a couple thousand more rounds. Really liking that Russian **** that's stored in the spam can. Probably gum your gun up but would store forever.

Yup. And I think ultimately it will be signed as long as, as law abiding Americans, OUR personal rights to own firearms are NOT infringed upon, it should be signed. Keep in mind what the basis of the treaty is for. OK, OK, bottom line it ain't gonna work anyway. I mean seriously, Iran is one of its proponents , who the F are they trying to kid!

Well, like deserthunter said, 6 more months to stock up.

If you believe that than you have completely missed the entire point of the ATT. There are already laws, state and international, on the books against the illicit trade of arms, large and small.

if the US Gov't is willing to concede to the UN's ATT than by that reasoning the Gov't is implying that US arms manufacturers are engaging in illegal arms trade. If that is the case than our Gov't already has more than enough power and ability to put an end to such practice

This treaty has nothing to do with illicit arms trade. This is about disarming the people and enabling the State to monopolize power

take a look at somali pirates and the large percentage of terrorists around he world and how many ARs do you see compared to AKs. That pretty well tells you who is exporting arms to terrorists.
