Default Transporting rifle interstate

I will be attending a gun show several states away, I plan on making one or more purchases.
I want to take my motorcycle. My understanding is keep unloaded gun in trunk or locked box in passenger compartment.
I would like to bolt a gun case across the back of my bike and transport guns in it, locked of coarse.
Does anyone see a problem with this, I want to be 100 percent leagle no grey area ?

Thanks, Tom
