Default Thought Better of Open Carry on Campus...

...so my CPL came in today after 85 days.

Here in MI you can't carry concealed at a school but then I found out that CPL holsters CAN carry at a school as long as the gun is not concealed.

Then I found you CAN'T open carry at the University of Michigan regardless of the fact that you CAN open carry at a school.

Why? Because somehow, back in the 1800's the Michigan Supreme Court determined that U of M, Michigan State, and Wayne State universities are their own "constitutional entities" that are outside the bounds of the constitution.

That being the case the "Regents Ordinances" are considered to be law and violation can result in a judged misdimeanor offense which DOES go on your criminal record and can get your CPL revoked.

So now I get the privilidge of being just another sheep for the next 3 years praying that my class doesn't make it on the news as the next VA Tech incident.

Nice.

THAT would truly suck. Michigan is one of the more Liberal institutions AND the football program is in the crapper.
