Ya I don't think the law passed . But the only way to open carry was you still had to take CHL class.

I've always hated how FL has no open carry. It always surprised me that TX does not either. Lunacy.

If Texas wants Open Carry, they should start a petition ,have it signed by as many people as possible, and have it put on the ballot.Writing and emailing your state reps and Governor Perry would help too instead of trying to get the attention of law enforcement.I was really surprised as much as Texas is bragged about for it's freedoms and western heritage that there isn't a law allowing open carry of handguns.Hell,go for constitutional carry as well.It has worked in Wyoming,Arizona,Vermont and other states that don't require permits yet their streets are not like the wild west.Texas should have open carry as well as constitutional carry.I think every state should. If criminals knew more citizens were packing ,they would think twice before robbing them.If Governor Perry is as pro-2A as he says he is,he should have no problems signing these into law. That's my opinion

I see a point to it. I'm taking it to the gun show, or to be repaired. Just two cases where you might carry it in the open. Why should I have to buy a box for it? So I won't scare the sheeple? It's a gun, you have a right to carry it. If you start pointing it at people you should expect to be shot. I have two hands, I carry them with me everywhere, however if I start beating someone with these hands I should expect to be shot. What's the difference. How long before the libtards start telling us what we can do with our hands? Oh wait they already do tell us we can't point a finger at someone. Just ask some of these grade school kids being expelled from school for making their hands into a gun.

Even in ninnyville Austin, people do not freak about open carry at the gun show. People carry all sorts of hardware from their cars to the show and back w/o an issue. Especially since most of the shows are at the Expo center and the only people there are there to attend the gun show

Read the op ! If you are going to a gun show or a gunsmith you aren't really open carrying. Your in a parking lot .
We are talking about the guys that walk down the street looking for attention either buy the public or law enforcement. Then spew crap about how it their right .
There is no point to open carry a long gun at anytime.

Whether you agree with it or not it is a right so we should be supporting those who choose to exercise that right. I personally choose OC, I may not agree with OC'ing a long gun but those that do it where it is legal I fully support them doing so because it is their right. I think we need to push for full constitutional carry in all 50 states. That would put the government on notice that the American People are not to be messed with. We need the government to once again fear the wrath of the people only then can we fix the problems in this country. I didn't realize there had to be a "point" to exercising how our rights can or cannot be exercised. I am pretty sure that would make them privileges.
