Default Taxing ammo as a way to curb violence

Only in New York would somebody want to tax a box of ammo $1500. They want to tax only hp ammo so that less deaths occur? Pretty sure fmj can kill too.

What a damn moron. FMJ,SWC, LRN all can kill people and do a fine job of it. We all know that this would be nothing more than an open door for further restrictions and taxes, especially now that he government can pretty much impose a "tax" for anything. I also really liked the following line.

"His solution: Increase the tax on bullets. He wouldn't raise the tax on ammunition typically used for target shooting or hunting. But he proposed exorbitant taxes on hollow-tipped bullets designed to penetrate armor and cause devastating damage."

Since when is a HP designed to penetrate armor? Jeez, at least educate yourself a little bit before trying make a point.
These are the fools we are up against, why is it so hard for us to win the fight for our rights, we are doing battle with people who have the brain power of 3rd graders.

IL wants to do something like this as well! Maybe New Yorkers will vote them all out

The ideas these idiots come up with are horrible and the "evidence" they use is mind boggling, the press does nothing but make these people seem right to the antis and idiotic to us. Ny, ill and commyfornia are all the same

You know, maybe it's me, but I seem to remember when I was a boy that my grandfather and my father used to teach me stuff. Mostly through the helpful art of pointing and saying, "you see that idiot, don't do what he did".

One such lessen involved a guy who didn't know how to use a chainsaw and ended up laying it into his shin. Needless to say, hilarity DID NOT ensue.

My point is, the guy didn't have any business with the chainsaw. Had no idea how it worked and only had a rough unstanding of what it did.

The parallel is glaringly similar.

Only someone who doesn't understand our sport, our love or the damn thing in question would propose to "fix" a problem with such an asinine solution.

You see this guy kids, don't be like him!

so then what is the plan to curb other violence - rape, assault, robbery, fraud, ...

a criminal can no longer afford bullets ... so he uses the next best thing, a knife Tax knives into oblivion ... he uses a baseball bat. Tax baseball bats into oblivion ... he uses a hammer. Tax hammers into oblivion ... he uses a brick.

are these people so stupid that they cannot see beyond the nose on their face?
