No natural rural-born native here believes this horse-hockey... and if this durn dude thinks any town or city in this state is more violent than Chi-town then they truely DO have their head up their @$$ !!! We have had carry conceal for law-abiding citizens here since 1996... and we've not turned into a "wild west shootout" scenario yet. As a mater of fact... overall crime rates have been decining and are currently their lowest (per population stats) since 1977; http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nccrimn.htm and you'll notice a BIG decline right after 1996... Hmmmm, wonder why???

The good news is this person is an exception to the overall thinking here in my home state. We are firmly red as of the last election and the only new state gun legislation proposed is a carry conceal confidentiality bill; http://www.nraila.org/legislation/state-legislation/2013/2/north-carolina-senate-committee-to-consider-right-to-carry-confidentiality-bill.aspx .... So for now I am not worried... Vigilant and aware... but not worried.
Got room for a couple more relocated Yankees?

I hope that this letter is on the level. It would be great if a portion of our enemies are that stupid.

This fits the stupid zone:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/18/colorado-dem-on-why-women-dont-need-guns-on-campus-you-might-feel-like-youre-gonna-be-raped-but-you-may-actually-not-be/

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/18/colorado-dem-on-why-women-dont-need-guns-on-campus-you-might-feel-like-youre-gonna-be-raped-but-you-may-actually-not-be/

While trying to explain why women in college donít need firearms for self-defense on campus, Colorado state Rep. Joe Salazar said even if women feel like they might be raped, their suspected attacker might not actually have intent to rape. So please, put the guns away ladies.

ďItís why we have call boxes, itís why we have safe zones, itís why we have the whistles. Because you just donít know who youíre gonna be shooting at,Ē he said during a legislative hearing. ďAnd you donít know if you feel like youíre gonna be raped, or if you feel like someoneís been following you around or if you feel like youíre in trouble and when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop ó pop a round at somebody.Ē

The flaws in Salazarís argument are obvious. No gun-free zone has stopped a deranged killer, just like a ďsafe zoneĒ wouldnít stop a rapist from assaulting a woman.

I think a republican wrote that pretending to be a democrat. It would have to be... right?
