New York City is populated by idiots. Why would their mayor be any different?

This is the same mayor that is working to shut down gun shows in other states. He says its because NYC criminals are getting their guns from them. Since it seems that other places don't have this "problem", and that only NYC criminals are getting guns from out of state gun shows, it seems to me that the better, more suitable course of action would be to not allow ppl from NYC out of the city limits.

I love the south, and I think its cool as hell that the lady's home state is sticking up for her.

However, she conducted some idiot behavior for not checking and extensively researching local gun laws of the place she was traveling to.

Does the 2A give us the right to keep and bear arms? Its supposed to, but I can't help but wonder what rock a person has been living under if they don't realize that some states have implemented unconstitutional laws they should be aware of.

If I was in charge I would want my residents to have the ability to protect themselves from all threats domestic and foreign.
They want the people to turn to the government for ALL of their needs, basically becoming hapless serfs with nothing better to do than line the pockets of their "leaders".

i know a dozens of ladies who pack legally. Every one of them knows that NY state has no reciprocity with any other state. i can't believe the lady in question never heard of a visitor being arrested in NY City for packing. All the lady had to do was click on this map:

https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/travel/

Politicians of both parties in NY are overwhelmingly anti-gun and anti-self defense. Case in point: US Rep. Peter King.

Oh, BTW: New Yorkers with a concealed carry license are allowed to pack in TN. Yep, that Yankee tourist money is a powerful thing.

New york is the capitalism hub of this country. From the banks to the exchanges, tourists from around the world cone here to spend. Met two girls from Holland that came to NY to shop. Went to an Wine and snack bar where hundreds of people daily shell out 30-50 bucks for a small plate of cheese and a glass of wine.the economy is thriving here.gun laws are awful here but it has always been a tough anti handgun state. Call em what you will but Socialist is not the word.. This is a place where lawyers bill at $500 to $1000 per hour. The key for all of us as Americans is that we are 50 states with different ideas and laws. Most of my friends are against more federal control and more states rights so if New Yorkers want to vote in folks that are anti gun, that is there privilege. As long as they dont dictate the rules in your state, all should be ok. Now if people dont respect the laws of state they have two choices... Stay out or play by there rules unless they are willing to take the chance of consequences. I love NY but would not move here because i love having the freedom to collect and shoot my handguns, my m4 and my AK all banned in ny

The problem with the vote outcomes in NY is that the NY city metro area has most of our population, and that most of that afformentioned population are sheep. The ones who try to effect change are in the minority, and are mostly from the western or northern parts of the state. The cr@ppy gun laws are only in the city, The rest of the state is not as bad.

And for the record, handguns, AKs, and ar-15s\ M4s are allowed in NY State. Most of the time, they can be found in any LGS. Granted, the "black rifles" must be either pre-ban or NY state compliant, and you need a permit for the handguns before you can even buy them. I think you have us confused with the People's Republik of Kalifornia, we are not that bad yet! And yes, YET IS THE KEY WORD. My wife and I will only be here another 3 years, when the daughter graduates HS, we are gone. I am not defending NYC, or their effed up laws. I am just stating that not all New Yorkers have their heads up their @sses. Keep in mind that the reason I will not travel to NYC is because my NYS pistol permit is NOT valid in NYC.

I am not trying to start an argument or trolling. I am just trying to set the record straight. I feel that NYC's gun laws are a joke, and that they are unconstitutional. Arresting that woman for exercising her second amendment rights is a travesty.

To those who wish to take away our Second Amendment rights. What will you do when we, all 100,000,000 of us, stand as one, and say no?

The intermountain West and Alaska are the only Free States in the nation. The most antigun freedom stealing presidents are from the Southern States. LBJ Txs., Carter Ga., Clinton Ark. Bush the Elder Txs, They gave us the 1968 Gun Laws, Brady Bill, BATF,Banned Assault Weapons, Banned Mail order, Back ground checks closed armorys to gun shows, register to buy black powder, too many laws to mention. Al Gore of Tenn. cast the tie vote to approve the Assault weapons Bill. Gore Tenn,. has been a rabid antigunner. Tenn. should remember what their favorite son has done to all Americans.

i watched Al Gore vote for the AWB.

President Jimmy Carter did not sign any gun control legislation nor did he mandate gun control through presidential executive order. As CA governor, Reagan signed the putrid Mulford Act into law, outlawing the carry of loaded guns in CA. President Ronald Reagan, the so called "gunowners champion", banned a shotgun from import in 1984 and again in 1986: This was the first time a long gun was banned from import. The precedent set by Reagan has been cited by anti-gun presidents Bush I, Clinton and Obama.

After he left office former president Reagan shilled for the Brady bill, a seven day waiting period and the "assault weapons" ban. The AWB passed the US house by one vote. At the last minute two Republican congressmen changed their minds and voted for the AWB after an appeal by Reagan. 76 House Democrats voted against the AWB. 38 House Republicans voted for the AWB.

"Gunowners champion" my @$$.
