Repeat something over and over again expecting a different result = Insanity.

Or in Harry's case senility.

Still just blows my mind that these people think the best way to stop these shootings (which all happen in "gun free" zones) is to make MORE of them! I think we need to take a page out of Switzerland's book

Na, they know what they are doing. They understand that disarming the people will make things less safe for US. However, THEY have people with guns to protect THEM so they feel safe make it more dangerous for us.

Why would they do such a thing?

Because they are smart enough to understand that once the economic house of cards they have built comes tumbling down then there will be no stopping an armed Citizenry from permanently removing them and setting the system to rights again. They CAN stop a disarmed and fractious Citizenry from doing so. Gun control comes down to one simple thing, the safety and protection of our Glorious Leaders.

Sen. Reid has a 90-some per cent rating with the NRA. He voted against the Clinton ban, I am told, when several Republicans voted for it. In this instance he is toeing the party line, but his actual effort is small. I am sure many Dems would have loved to replace him in his role with a true believer.

Yeah, Manchin ran for senate as a pro gun candidate then started kissing Obama's rear end as soon as he got to Washington. I am ashamed of the fact that he represents my native state.

I believe you may be right. A "true believer" would be moving heaven and earth to enact anti gun bills.
