What? How!? Stolen firearms on the street generally sell for LESS than new ones bought legitimately through FFL's... And how would the illegal trade be affected amongst thieves except to expand it and drive it further underground as well as create a vacuum to smuggle guns into the country? Buy alotta drugs, get a free gun.

The statement you made about MS13, yes. I don't dispute your contention that there may be illegal gun sales at gun shows and I won't argue that a gang member may have shaved and worn a polo shirt and bought a gun illegally at a gunshow. But I know the Maras. It was my business to know them because I made a living monitoring the activities of crime syndicates, gangs, cartels, kidnappers, human traffickers, gunrunners and insurgent groups in Central and South America for 30 years...and I know where MS 13 gets the majority of it's weapons and it's not from gun shows, Walmart or Larry's Gun Store in McAllen, TX.
Well now here's a man to listen to! I'll presume I know nothing and concede to 7point62's opinions if the Lefty's here will agree to do the same!

Deal?

When and where will you draw the line against tyranny? If not you, who? If not now, when -- "next time"!?

I agree 100%, that would be good, I also think that if the FFL knows the customer then the background check should be optional too.

Well, duh? Who would pay as much for a "drop" gun as a legal gun?

What I said was making NICS available to ALL sellers would impact the value of stolen guns; their prices would be driven down, maybe far enough down to reduce the profit motive for stealing them in the first place. A hot gun is a much harder sell when the buyer knows it is hot.

I've been offered stolen firearms before, a couple I reeeeeally wanted, but I didn't want them knowing they would PROBABLY show up as stolen if a LEO ran their numbers. I say PROBABLY because many people fail to keep a record of their serial numbers for the theft report; this means any gun that has been stolen has a MUCH lower percentage chance of showing up as stolen when an LEO runs its numbers.

As far as causing more illegal guns to be smuggled INTO the country, I gotta wonder if they would have normal/US style serial numbers and how they would be listed or not listed if the LEO called in the serial number. A illegally imported firearm would be worth even less than one I knew would show up stolen when checked; who wants the feds thinking they are a gun runner or have one to rat out?

I think you need to consider taking an Anger Management course. I hope you're taking blood pressure meds. You need to rachet it down a bunch and back off the ranting. Oh, and add spell-check to you browser.
