Long live Clarence Thomas (62 y.o.)!
Long live Antonin Scalia (74 y.o.)!
Long live Samuel Alito (60 y.o.)!
Long live Anthony Kennedy (74 y.o.)!
Long live Chief Justice John Roberts (55 y.o.)!
Even though Kagan would not be an added vote to their cadre of 4. Her youth would shadow over the court for decades.

And that, my good man was the biggest reason to NOT vote for BO and the dems. But, that part of it all is always overlooked by Joe Common voter. Sure, the POTUS is up every 4 years, Senators every 6 and Reps every 2. Many people don't think about appointments that are lifetime appointments and have judicial review powers. Great post, CHL.

Here is the direction we must travel if we are going to hold on to the Republic.

This is why RINO's need to go. How can someone go to Congress and compromise with someone who is trying to subvert our Constitution? The lefties never compromise right. It is only the RINO's that compromise left.
I am sick and tired of conservatives giving the high ground up automatically. When we know that the welfare society is going to collapse down upon everyone because of its very flawed structure, why do the architects of that system get to claim that they are on the side of compassion? It is the free-market pursuit of private property, with personal responsibility to help those in need around you, that has raised the standard of living immeasurably in this country. Taking away my private property to give it to another has has not earned it, hurts both ME and HIM. ME: because I have been robbed of my own fruits of my labor. HIM: because he has been robbed of his motivation to work hard. It is the free-marketeer who is compassionate in the truest sense of the word.
OK, I'm taking a break now.

The conservatives give up the high ground to the liberals and the liberals give up whatever ground they have to the extreme fringe type socialists.
This November will be an indication as to whether we can put the brakes on Oscama's agenda or are things going to get scary.

Sessions is partly right. The US senate would pass the most restrictive an unconstitutional form of gun control. In 2004 the US senate passed an extension of the so called "assault weapons ban". Ten senators of Sessions' political party voted for an extension of the AWB.
For senator Sessions: Where were you and your party when you controlled the US congress and the white house? You could have rolled back the Hughes amendment but you did not. You could have overturned the import restrictions placed on the importatiion of guns put in place by Bush I and Clinton but you did not. Mr. Sessions, you could have authorized concealed carry in national parks and all federal government land but you did not. Mr. Sessions', you did nothing for law abiding gun owners when you had the opportunity. Now you are crying that the sky is falling.
