Default running for political office

Has anyone on the site ever ran for political office in their state? I was curious because I am considering maybe running for office myself in 2014. I love politics although I hate modern politics and always wanted to get into then on a state level. Was thinking state representative...

I'm more of a political mut. I'm a registered democrat who votes more republican than dem. The state representative for my area is a democrat, but is a life Kong member of the nra and is a good man. I wouldbsay I would have to change party lines and run under the republicans to really have a shot at it at all. Beating rep. Rand would be very difficulty because he is such a good man and a good ooitician, I am actually wanting to talk to him and will do that soon. I would like to get his views on some things before I make my mind up for sure. If his views are the same as mine there is not much point in running.
