About a year ago I bought 3 guns from 3 dealers on the same day. 3 seperate 4473 forms and 3 calls to NICS. Ever since then I have been delayed when I buy another firearm. Doesn't really bother me as I'm in IL and we have the 1/3 day waiting period. Unless I got to my one LGS and then I leave with the gun.

Confused...
I didn't put the second gun on layaway because the discount price was cash only on that day.I just simply decided to let it go.Besides, somebody else already snagged it up and bought it.No biggie I've been happy with the Nano.

I have never bought more than one gun at a time, as I'm lucky to have enough money to pay for one. But I've read somewhere that if you buy multiple guns at one time, you get a visit from the BATFE a few weeks later, to make sure you still have them. To make sure you didn't do a straw purchase, and that you didn't sell them.

I have never heard this before. Good luck on them finding me home. I work for a living and can be gone anywhere from 9 hours to 16 hours a day.

An FFL fills out a multiple purchase form only when you buy 2 or more handguns in a 5 day period. The exception is in the states bordering Mexico. In those border states the same applies in addition to 2 or more semi-auto rifles in a 5 day period.

I've never heard of the ATF visiting anyone who makes multiple purchases. They would need probable cause and a search warrant to do this anyways.
